As we enter the fiscal year 2020-21, entire mankind faces an unprecedented challenge in the pandemic of COVID-19. The entire global economy has for all practical purposes shutdown and the norms of social distancing, sanitization and restrictions on travel have been introduced. These norms need to be continued in the near foreseeable future, with or without lockdowns.
The Port Sector is going to face this unprecedented challenge just like other Sectors of the economy. Lack of demand, less evacuation, lack of storage space, labour availability, etc. are all problems that we have to face and overcome. The “business as usual” system of working has to change and we have to face each situation and issue with alacrity and urgency. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has outlined the vision of a Post-Corona World, wherein, adaptability, efficiency, inclusivity, opportunity, and universalism are the essential ingredients of any business model.
You would have appreciated our efforts in continuing the Port services in this period with the same amount of positivity and enthusiasm that has been the hallmark of the Port in the recent past.
I expect that all of you will show the same spirit of brotherhood and cooperation that has carried us to such high levels of efficiency.
In these times of uncertainty and despair, we need to carry our work with all the positivity and enthusiasm that we can muster and lead our staff and colleagues to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves. We expect that you all will continue to partner with the PPT for your logistics needs.
Last, but not the least, I urge you all to please download Aarogya Setu Mobile App. This is an App, that will help to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. More the downloads, more its efficacy.
I once again wish you, your family and your organisation all the best and pray to the Almighty for your prosperity and health.
